Daniel Lauer, DMD has recently been recertified by the American Board of Periodontology, demonstrating his advanced knowledge and expertise in the field of periodontics.
Palm Beach Gardens, FL – For the second time, Dr. Daniel Lauer, a periodontist in Palm Beach Gardens, has completed the re-examination process to maintain his certification by the American Board of Periodontology (ABP). Becoming a Diplomate of the ABP is an achievement earned by a small percentage of periodontists in the U.S., which highlights the advanced expertise of those who pursue, complete, and maintain the accreditation. With a dedication to staying at the forefront of periodontics, Dr. Lauer is pleased to continue providing high quality oral care as recognized by the ABP.
To become certified by the ABP, a periodontist must have completed three years of advanced specialty training following dental school, as well as pass challenging oral and written exams. Every six years, they must re-test to maintain their accreditation, which many fail to do. Dr. Lauer has entered his third period of this accreditation and will remain under the ABP’s certification until 2021.
While board certification is not required for periodontists to practice in the U.S., Dr. Lauer believes it is an important achievement to pursue. He says this status distinguishes the professionals who undergo continuing education and stay up-to-date with the latest techniques. By earning recertification from the ABP, Dr. Lauer says he is able to better demonstrate his commitment to comprehensive care through efficient treatments.
When it comes to selecting a periodontist, Dr. Lauer stresses the need to see a specialist who is certified by the ABP. By doing so, patients can receive care from those who take extra steps to keep up with their education and maintain their proficiency in the field of periodontics.
