New Technology Improves Dental Implant Results

ProMax 3D Digital ImagingAt Precision Periodontics & Implant Dentistry, we are excited to announce our recent upgrade to the Planmeca ProMax® 3D digital imaging technology. With this new addition, Dr. Daniel Lauer provides the most precise and accurate x-ray technology available in dentistry today. The technology is beneficial for a variety of procedures, particularly for dental implant treatments. This new digital x-ray technology improves the planning process for implant placement and allows for a three dimensional evaluation of jaw anatomy. All of this is possible thanks to the high quality images and functional design of the system.

The ProMax® 3D has three levels that capture images. By having multiple vantage points, it is easier for Dr. Lauer to precisely locate vital structures such as the exact location of the nerve canals within the jaw bone. This allows for planning the safest and most precise dental implant location as well as the most comfortable and natural fit possible when reconstructing lost dentition. Since the images are digital, they can be viewed instantly, making planning the implant placement much faster and allowing for early detection of dental problems. In addition to the high quality pictures, the device uses cone beam technology, which significantly lowers a patient’s exposure to radiation. The ProMax® 3D proves to be the ideal technology for convenient and safe dental procedures.

What makes the ProMax® 3D most remarkable is the Selectively Compliant Articulated Robotic Arm (SCARA). This feature improves the functionality of digital imaging by adjusting to the patient’s position in order to scan their teeth. By doing so, the images provide a comprehensive view of a patient’s mouth for treatment and diagnostic purposes. The robotic arm takes high quality panoramic radiographs, which provides Dr. Lauer with every detail needed for superior care.
